(tap dancing) Hey guys, I’m Brendon Stimson, I’m currently in “Mean Girls” on Broadway, and I’m gonna dance through my resume. (“Cool” from West Side Story) I’m made my Broadway debut with “West Side Story” in 2009 at the Palace Theatre, and it was an unbelievable cast of such gifted dancers that challenged me to be better, and it was just, to dance that iconic choreography, at that level, was just such an unbelievable dream that I will always remember. (“Cool” from West Side Story) (“Seize The Day” from “Newsies”) And then along came “Newsies,” and the first time I met Christopher Gatelli that I did a bunch of other projects with. It was my first original company, and it was so cool to kinda create the Delancey brother and to have that family of newsboys. ♪ Now is the time to seize the day ♪ ♪ They’re gonna see there’s hell to pay ♪ (“Higher Love” from “Honeymoon in Vegas”) ♪ I’m talkin’ ’bout a higher love ♪ “Honeymoon in Vegas” was my third show. It was at the same theater that “Newsies” was at, the Nederlander, so it was kinda cool to have a homecoming right back to back. I got to work with Denis Jones, incredible choreographer, and it was really fun to play a bunch of different characters in that one. It was a very kinda zany show, so it was fun to kinda explore different comedic outlandish characters. ♪ Jumpity jump ♪ ♪ Jump, jump, jumpity jump ♪ ♪ Jump, jump, jumpity jump ♪ ♪ I’m lookin’ for a higher love ♪ (“Will Power” from “Something Rotten!”) ♪ We’re shakin’ it for Shakespeare ♪ ♪ Methinks you got it ♪ “Something Rotten” was my first show that I worked with Casey Nicholaw on. I did the lab of “Something Rotten,” but then I was cast in “Honeymoon in Vegas,” and so I couldn’t do the opening of “Rotten.” I was really bummed out, but I got to eventually live like my boy-band leather-boy dreams backing up Shakespeare a few times. It was a hysterical time. ♪ And if music be the food of love, play on ♪ ♪ That’s a new one, don’t even know where to put it yet ♪ ♪ Speaking of love, here’s one ♪ ♪ for all you lovers out there ♪ (“Apex Predator” from “Mean Girls”) ♪ She doesn’t know, yeah ♪ ♪ She’s the queen of beasts ♪ Currently, I’m in “Mean Girls” at the August Wilson. We’ve been open for over a year now, and it’s my first time dance captaining a show on Broadway. It’s a hard job, but it’s been incredibly fulfilling, and it’s been nice to kind of start to pass on the torch to a new generation, if you will. I’ve still got it, don’t get me wrong, but I can see that the next generation of Broadway coming in, and it’s kind of nice to pass it down a little bit. ♪ She is the apex predator! ♪ (tap dancing)

  1. Great video. This is how your dance my resume videos should be done from now on and not those weird effects and camera angles.

  2. I'm a simple girl: I see a Newsie, I click.

No, but, for real though – I love Brendan Stimson and it SO great to see him getting the recognition he deserves. ❤ Also, I had no idea he was in Something Rotten!? I'm gonna need to start looking up footage of that now. Great video!

  3. Does anyone know if you have to be able to sing to be a dancer on broadway? It’s my dream to be a dancer in a broadway show but I can’t sing for shit.

  4. The stamina and endurance it must take to do this level of dancing (while singing) every night…Broadway is a sport! I bet athletes couldn't even do it!

  5. a small thing, but i love how much he’s sweating! it really shows that he gives his all when he dances. much love from a fellow sweat-er!

  6. damn this guy has a hell of a resume!!! he's been in so many amazing shows with so much beautiful choreo it's awesome

  7. It’s so cool to watch the intricacies of the dance in apex predator cuz normally I just wanna stare at Barrett lol
