Dressing for Different Workplaces: Tech, Finance and Uniform-Required (Ft. Ingrid Nilsen)

– Hey, everyone. I’m Ingrid Nilsen, and I have been making beauty, style and intentional
living videos on YouTube for the last 10 years. It’s super cool to be here today, because this video is part of a series that I’ve made in partnership with Indeed, and it’s all about what to wear to work. (gentle music) Today I’m gonna show you
three outfits in five minutes for different workplaces that
all provide an opportunity for personal touches to shine. Let’s do this. The first workplace is a tech start-up. And because these environments
tend to be more casual, I am wearing a white
turtleneck with a blush blazer, some light wash jeans and white sneakers. The reason why I went with this look, is because I wanted something
that felt light and airy, but also something that was like an elevated version of super casual. The jeans are slightly distressed, and that’s definitely a very casual vibe. So that’s why I paired the
jeans with a white turtleneck, because I think the
silhouette of a turtleneck is just a little bit
dressier, and this one is a very light-knit material. So it’s very breathable, and
the blush blazer is flowy, it also has a longer length, and I think that this swingy material and the color is just really great. And because I have to keep
it comfortable on my feet, I am wearing my favorite white sneakers. I feel like it just really
pulls the look together, and it’s the perfect blend of casual, but with some elevated pieces. Now let’s move in to the
next workplace, finance. We’re dressing it up a little bit here. So, I have on a floral
jumpsuit, and then I paired that with a black blazer over
the top and black heels. So I went with this floral jumper, because I am someone who
likes to incorporate color into my outfits, and I love this print, because it does have a black background. So it makes it feel a little bit dressier. This material is also very
comfortable to wear all day. I love the wide leg cut,
because I always feel like that’s a little bit dressier. And then, over the top
I have a black blazer with just really subtle,
but interesting details that also help to elevate the look. For shoes I wanted something dressy, but I also wanted something practical. So when I wear heels,
they tend to be lower. So these are just
simple, black, low heels. When this look is put together,
this has the perfect blend of color, comfort and formality. The last workplace is
a little bit more open, but it’s basically a place,
where you have to wear an all-black uniform. And there are various industries where this would be relevant. For this look I am incorporating one of my favorite silhouettes, uh-huh, the turtleneck is back, folks. I also have a pair of black
jeans, black sneakers, and I’m spicing things up a little bit with my accessories and my makeup. For this all-black look I really wanted to work with silhouettes
that would be different, especially if you have to wear like, something over the front of your outfit, like an apron or something over the top, like some kind of jacket or shirt. I chose a turtleneck because
it’s a great layering piece, and you can still wear things on top, but see the turtleneck. And because everything is all black, the jeans, the shoes, the top, I really wanted to incorporate
color in my makeup. So, I’m wearing a bright, like
magenta-fuchsia lip color. You can wear jewelry. I have on a necklace here. You can also wear hair accessories. They keep my hair out of my face too, so I really love them,
’cause they’re cute, but also practical, love
it when that happens. All right, so that is
going to be it for today. And if you’d like to see
