It’s been the most amazing experience.
I’m ready to go, but at the same time it’s something that I’ll never forget
really. It’s just like surreal. Feels like a long time coming. I’m so excited. I’m
finally done. I can’t wait. We worked really hard to
get here and we’re here now. It’s been an incredible like journey of
transformation for me. Figuring out who I am.
What I want to do. What I want to be. Definitely through the courses I was
able to have a lot of different connections with people so I have a lot
of resources going into the field. The time I’ve spent here it means new
approaches. New challenges. Building relationships with people. Honestly I’ve
taken so many different courses with just different perspectives that have
changed my view. It was a great environment to grow and learn in. For
college just one of those things was like you get what you put into it and I gave
Towson my all and gave a lot back to me as well. You could never do it alone.
Building a community is something I think Towson does very, very well. I felt
immediately accepted by the community at Towson. I just felt like I could be
myself. Community life is amazing. I joined Greek life and Greek life is a
lot of fun. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Towson became like a second family
everybody here. It’s a big part of my life now. My professors help me and
support me a lot. I’ve definitely met a lot of really good people during my time
here and I’m excited to have these friendships for the rest of my life. Me
and my family been like waiting for this moment for a long time and we made it. So
it’s not only just myself crossing that finish line, but me and my family
crossing as well. I’m the first one of the family to graduate so it’s a big
accomplishment. It’s been a lot of hard work. A lot of time. A lot of late nights. A lot
of early mornings. I’ve done internships through Towson and also found a couple
of different jobs through Towson as well. I got two internships. One at WJZ. One at WBAL.
I mean really it’s just giving me that platform to step out and really connect
and network. I got a master’s degree in Applied Information Technology and I’m
working in the tech field. Just gonna keep progressing up, up the ladders. I
know I’m gonna coming back and I’m going to be
continuing at Towson for graduate school I’m going to be majoring in Computer
Science here for my masters. So right now I have a job with a company called
McDonald Consulting Group. I’m long-term subbing at Forest Ridge Elementary
School in Howard County. Next I’m studying for MCAD. DCAD. OCAD. My next
step is my internship hopefully that turns into a job, which it most likely
will because they gave me an application so whew! I have an internship lined up
with Interpol for the Department of Justice in DC starting in January so I’m
really excited about that. So I got a job right out of college, which I’m super
thankful and grateful for. It’s a great opportunity and hopefully I just get to
grow and anything’s possible. You leave Towson University prepared to
take on new challenges, build careers and change the world for the better so
graduates go inspire, go achieve, go serve and always remember, go Tigers!
